Experience the Power of Japanese Drumming!

We’re excited to offer a free Kids Taiko Workshop at One Dojo, introducing children to the joy of Japanese taiko drumming through movement, rhythm, and group play. 

  • This workshop is designed for first-time and beginner participants.
  • No prior taiko or music experience is required.
  • FREE! Only for Colorado residents.

  • Approximately 20 participants total (including children and participating parents/guardians)
  • Pre-registration is required below.

 

Who This Workshop Is For
  • Children who are new to taiko and have never taken a class at One Dojo
  • Children interested in joining regular Kids Taiko classes who would like to try taiko first
  • First-time and beginner participants with no prior music or taiko experience
Current students are welcome to register and are encouraged to bring friends; however, this workshop is primarily intended for first-time participants, and priority will be given accordingly.

Parent / Guardian Participation
  • Parents and guardians may participate together with their child if space allows
  • Registration is required for each participating adult
Arrival & Check-In
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to allow time for check-in and settling in.

What to Wear
  • Comfortable clothing that allows free movement
  • No hats (bandanas are fine)
  • Please avoid jeans or other tight, stiff clothing
What to Bring
  • Water bottle
  • Hair ties for long hair
  • Please remove watches, jewelry, and unnecessary items before class for safety
All taiko drums and bachi (drumsticks) will be provided.

Photos, Video & Cancellations
  • Photos or short videos may be taken for Boulder Taiko documentation and outreach
  • If you need to cancel, please notify us in advance so we can offer the spot to another family
